This is how you will get the records or rows to generate the output using the templates
You will need to pick a type of data source from the drop-down list, then fill as much detail as the type of source needs to allow a connection to the data.
Each source will have different settings to make the connection and different requirements.
This can be as simple as a path to the text file, or a database connection using ODBC or OleDB.
Other connector types will be available as extended licences.
If your data source type is not available you can make a request to us and we will determine if we are able to fulfil your requirement as an extended licence.
Each data source will also have a set of marker fields that can be used in the templates and other substitutable values.
All sources will also have these specific data fields to use at all points of substitution.
- RecordCount: The total number of records returned by the data source at run time
also known as Records, NumOfRecords or NoOfRecords - SourceName: The name of the data source type
Also known as NameOfSource

Once a data source is defined, the application will ask to confirm and make available the record or row field data for use in the record template, or elsewhere as needed.
This is verified and prepared by using the Test Data Connection and Test Data is OK buttons.
Once verified and when you have green OK lights, you can see data samples in the window dialog. These samples will be used for the field interactive dialog for placing fields.
Once the configuration is done, click on Save data source to save the configuration and return to the main window.
